A shriek pierced the sky as the bridge passed overhead. Crisp spray spashed my face, but could not deter my focus from the monolithic structure before me. Its just a bridge, really. But something about it strikes me. Physically it is daunting. I can feel hints of vertigo building just looking at it. I wonder who built it, how it works, what goes into building something so complex but so simple. Lives are riding on this structure daily. I think about how far we as beings have come. We have engineering down to a science. Building, to a science. With so much room to grow, so much room to expand and advance into the future. We may struggle with our existence, but I cant help looking at our structures and our accomplishments, whether they are complex or simple, and be proud.
